Instructions

  1. North Pole Ornament

    • 1

Cut out a 3-inch-by-1-inch piece of white cardstock. Color the cardstock green with a permanent marker. Allow the marker to dry.

    • 2

Cut the shape of a triangle onto one end of the strip. Cut a notch at the other end. The end result should look like an arrow.

    • 3

Write the words "North Pole" onto the arrow with a black permanent marker.

    • 4

Glue the arrow sign onto a traditional candy cane. Hold down the arrow sign for a few seconds to help the glue set.

    • 5

Cut out two small circles, approximately 1/8 inch in circumference, from a piece of red construction paper.

    • 6

Cut out two, 1/4-inch-long holly leaves from a piece of green construction paper. Glue the two small balls to the two small leaves to make a holly bough.

    • 7

Glue the holly bough directly under the "North Pole" sign.

    • 8

Tie one end of a 6-inch-piece of thin red ribbon around the top of the candy cane. Tie the other end around the tree.

    Candy Cane Sleigh

    • 9

Cut off the top of a small tissue box. Throw the top away.

    • 10

Cut both sides of the trimmed box top to resemble the shape of a sleigh.

    • 11

Paint the sleigh green with craft paint. Allow it to dry.

    • 12

Cut two small holes into the bottom of both sides of the front of the box. Cut two more holes on the opposite side of the box that line up with the front holes. Stick one candy cane into either hole to act as runners for the sleigh.

    • 13

Fill the sleigh with miniature candy canes, foil-wrapped Christmas candy and add a small piece of plastic holly as a garnish on the top.
