Locate the knob on the coupler between the string trimmer shaft and trimmer attachment.

Loosen the knob with your fingers in a counterclockwise motion. Do not remove the knob completely.

Find the positioning hole button located by the kno, and push it in to separate the Ryobi into two pieces. Lay the trimmer attachment down gently.

Turn the knob in a clockwise motion to secure it to the string trimmer shaft.

Put the two pieces of the Ryobi in a safe location for the winter season.
