Locate the Problem

1

-
2
Inspect the slats for broken pieces. Slats may get caught. Look for anything irregular.

-
3
Examine the cord or wand. It should not be tangled or unhinged.
-
4
Inspect the installation brackets behind the headrail. They should be secure in the wall. They should also hold the headrail.
Repair the Blinds
-
5
Remove anything that interferes with raising or lowering the blinds. Straighten any crooked slats. Untangle the cord if it’s in the way of the slats.
-
6
Glue any broken slats back together. Make sure the slats run on the cord track.
-
7
Properly mount the cord or wand if it’s not already. Untangle any loose cords. If the cord is frayed, you may have to attach a new cord. If you don’t have another cord, use glue to keep the pieces together.
-
8
Tighten the screws in the installation brackets if they are loose, using the screwdriver. Secure the headrail if it’s not in place. Make sure you hear a pop. The lip of the brackets should hold the headrail in place. If the brackets are broken, use a drill to remove them from the wall mount and replace them with new brackets from the installation kit.
