How to Make Father's Day Pop Up Books
Kids enjoy making special things for their fathers for Father’s Day. Many fathers get pop-up cards, but consider using that same technique to a make pop-up book. Help your child create a story first, writing about something out of his imagination or about something memorable he did with his dad. Make the Father's Day pop-up book with card stock.
Instructions

1
Fold two sheeets of card stock in half for each page of the book. Set one aside. On one piece of card stock, make two, 1-inch cuts near the middle on the fold.
-
2
Fold down the middle portion between the cuts. Unfold.
-
-
3
Open the card stock page and push the cut middle portion from the back towards the inside of the card stock to make something that looks like a step.
-
4
Cut shapes out of another piece of card stock. Decorate with stickers or markers. Glue the shapes to the step on the inside of the previously folded and cut card stock piece.
-
5
Take your other full sheet of card stock and carefully glue it to the outside of your finished pop-up sheet. Keep the pop-up card stock folded so you don't glue down the pop ups.
-
6
Write one sentence of your story on this page. Make all the subsequent pages in the same manner. Allow the glue to dry on all the pages completely.
-
7
Put the pages of your pop-up book in order. Punch a hole through all the pages of the book on the folded side at either edge. Insert a string through all the holes and tie in a tight double knot.

Tips & Warnings
When punching the holes to put the pages of your book together, you may want to do each page separately. Use a ruler to measure 1-inch from the end on each page and punch your holes in exactly the same spot to make your book go together nicely.
Since you need two sheets of card stock for each page, there will be several blank pages in your pop-up book. Use these as additional pages to write your story on or glue on pictures of you and dad together.
