Step-by-Step Instructions on How to Do the Popcorn Line Dance
The Popcorn Line Dance is a country dance with simple choreography. The dance originated on the "Cool Cats Cross Arts Adventures Level 2" activity program by Bushfire Press, an Australian children's performing arts publishing company. The straightforward steps make this dance suitable for school assembly performances.

Place both of your thumbs on the front of your waistband. Loop your thumbs through your front belt loops if desired. Stand with your feet together.

Step to the right with your right foot. Bring your left foot together with your right foot. Step to the right with your right foot again. Tap your left foot against your right foot and place your feet together.

Step to the left with your left foot. Bring your right foot together with your left foot. Step to the left with your left foot again. Tap your right foot against your left foot, then place your feet together.

Jump, spreading both feet apart, then jump again, bringing both feet back together.

Turn to face the left. Jump, spreading both feet apart, then jump again, bringing both feet back together.

Raise your right knee quickly and slap it. Raise your left knee quickly and slap it.

Before beginning the dance, have the dancers warm up for a few minutes by moving around to the beat of the music.
