How to Wear Amulets & Talismans

Amulets and talismans are believed to protect from the wearer from harm or imbue the wearer with powerful attributes. Although jewelry and other small objects, such as stones or crystals, are often used as amulets or talismans, anything can be used as long as it holds special meaning to the person using it.

Instructions

  1. Wearing Amulets

    • 1

Place the amulet in a bag if you wish to carry it in your pocket, rather than around your neck or as a bracelet. If you own several amulets, you can put them in the same bag. What material you choose for the bag is up to you, but most prefer natural materials such as leather or cloth. Make sure the bag has a drawstring or other manner of closing it so the objects do not fall out.

    • 2

Place the amulet, if small enough, on a cord or a gold or silver necklace to wear around your neck, if you choose to wear it close to your heart. Amulets, which are used for protection, according to llewellyn.com, can be worn anywhere on the body. If you want to wear it all the time, and don't want to risk banging it against something, wear it around your neck.

    • 3

Keep your amulets safe from others' eyes, or from being scratched, by wearing them beneath your clothing.

    Wearing Talismans

    • 4

Place the talisman, just as you would an amulet, in a bag made of natural material that can easily fit into a pocket, unless you wish to wear it on your body, closer to your skin.

    • 5

Wear corded talismans close to chakras that represent the qualities you wish to attract good energies to. For example, if you wish to attract love, wear your love talisman near your heart heart.

If you wish to attract better luck in golf, you can wear the talisman as a bracelet (as long as it won't get in your way).

    • 6

Follow your intuition (with either talismans or amulets). If you feel you should wear them in a different area on the body, or anything else feels wrong about the amulet or talisman, remove it and try wearing it differently (or use a new amulet or talisman).

Tips & Warnings

  • Always use very sturdy cords (whether leather, velvet or metal) for wearing talismans or amulets as necklaces or bracelets so they do not fall off.
