How to Make My Silvercrest DVD Player Region Free

Ensure all DVDs work in your Silverlight DVD player.

If you cannot play a DVD in your Silverlight DVD player, it could be because the DVD is from a different region than your player. Silverlight DVD players are set up with region codes that disallow you from playing DVDs from other parts of the world. To rectify this, you must use a code to change your DVD player's status to "region-free." The code you must use depends on the model number of your Silverlight DVD player.

Instructions

Model KH 6778

1. Press "Open" to open the disc tray, then leave it open.

2. Press "2," "8," "1" and "2" on your remote control.

3. Set the region code to "9" to make your DVD player multi-region.

Models KH 6510 and KH 6511

1. Press "Open" to open the disc tray and leave it open.

2. Press "9" on your remote four times.

3. Press "9" again to set your region code to multi-region.

4. Close the disc tray and restart the machine.

Model KH 6507

1. Press "Open" to open the disc tray, then leave it open.

2. Press "SETUP' on your remote control.

3. Navigate to "Preferences" and select it.

4. Press "1," "3," "7" and "9."

5. Change the region code to "0" for multi-region access. Press "OK" and then "SETUP."

Model KH 6508

1. Press "Open" to open the disc tray, then leave it open.

2. Press "2," "8," "1" and "2" on the remote control.

3. Enter "9" as the region code for multi-region access.

4. Press "SETUP" on the remote, then turn the player off and on again.

Tips & Warnings

• Some models do not allow multi-region access, but some users have had success using the codes above on other model numbers.
