How to Draw Hearts on Fire
A heart in flames is a common image drawn for tattoos, motorcycle helmets, graffiti and just ordinary doodles. This powerful visual statement is not difficult to reproduce. When drawing a heart, heart in flames or any other graphic image like this, it is best to draw with confidence--not with sketchy lines. Each line should be smooth and unbroken to have the most visual impact.

1
Draw a standard heart by making a shape like a C, but allow the bottom curve of the C to droop down, instead of curving up. Then, draw the same thing on the other side, but flipped horizontally so that it creates a symmetrical shape that could be cut in half down the middle.
-
2
Draw a second heart, near the first. You can also draw the second heart in front of the first one and to the side, so that they overlap a little.
-
-
3
Draw a series of wavy lines poking out of the top of each heart. The wavy lines should be only about half as tall as the heart.
-
4
For each wavy line you drew in Step 3, draw a wavy line back down from the tip of that line, back to the top of the heart. You are drawing the flames.
-
5
Color the image with a colored pencil, red or pink for the hearts, and bright yellow in the center of the flames, gradually becoming orange and then red toward the exterior.
