How to Convert an SHN to an MP3 on Vista

MP3 files have a smaller file size than SHN files.

SHN is a lossless compression audio format. That is, SHN files can compress a CD-quality audio file while still maintaining the integrity of original audio file. Because SHN files maintain the quality of the original, they are often quite large in comparison to other audio file formats like MP3 files. Therefore, you may want to convert your SHN files to MP3 files. Converting file formats in Windows Vista can be accomplished as long as you know what conversion applications to use.

Instructions

Switch Sound Converter

1. Download and install Switch Sound Converter. This free application can be downloaded by visiting the link in the "Resources" section.

2. Add the SHN file you want to convert by clicking the "Add File" button in the upper-left corner of the application. Select the file from your computer.

3. Choose an output location to save the converted file. Click "Browse" next to "Output Folder" to select a location.

4. Choose an output format. Click the drop-down next to "Output Format" and select ".mp3."

5. Click the "Convert" button in the lower-right corner of the application and the SHN file is converted into an MP3 file.

Pazera Free Audio Extractor

1. Download and install Pazera Free Audio Extractor. This free application can be downloaded by visiting the link in the "Resources" section.

2. Click the "Add Files" button in the upper-left corner of Pazera. Choose the SHN file you want to convert.

3. Select an output directory by clicking the "Browse" button on the right side of the application.

4. Click the "Profile" drop-down menu and select "MP3" from the list of options.

5. Click the "Convert" button located in main menu across the top of the application. The SHN file is converted into an MP3 file.

Axara Audio Converter

1. Download and install Axara Audio Converter . This application can be downloaded by visiting the link in the "Resources" section.

2. Click the "Add files" button in the lower-left corner of the application and choose an SHN file to convert.

3. Click the "To MP3" button in the upper-left hand corner of the application.

4. Choose an output directory by clicking the "Browse" button next to "Output Directory."

5. Click the "Convert" button in the upper-right corner of the application. The SHN file is converted into an MP3 file.
