Speed up downloads by tweaking your Internet settings.

The Internet speed settings on a Windows XP computer can be tweaked so that your modem will use its full potential. The defaults on the modem set the speed to a "medium" setting, but you can adjust the sliders to get the most out of your modem. Once you tweak the defaults, your browsing experience will improve dramatically, with faster page loads and downloads. These tweaks work on Internet Explorer 5.X, 7, and 8 Beta.
