Connecting to the Internet on a Toshiba laptop is easy to do.

Toshiba laptops come equipped with the ability to connect to the Internet. There are a couple of ways a Toshiba laptop owner can connect to the Web. In either way, there is not much that needs to be done to hook the laptop up. Toshiba laptop users can decide if they want to use an Ethernet cord to connect with a modem or connect wirelessly if they are in range of a wireless network.

Instructions

  1. Connecting with Ethernet

      Locate the Ethernet port on the left side of the laptop.

      Plug an Ethernet cord into the modem you want to use. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cord into the Ethernet port on the laptop.

      Click on Internet Explorer or another web browser icon on the desktop. You have now hooked up the Internet on a Toshiba laptop.

    Connect Wirelessly

      Click the "Start" menu on the laptop's home screen and select "Control Panel."

      Click on "Network and Internet." A new window will open.

      Select "Connect to a network" under "Network and Sharing Center." A new window will appear.

      Click the "Refresh" button on the right side of the window. A list of available wireless networks will appear.

      Click on a wireless network to select it. Click the "Connect" button at the bottom of the window. Click on the icon of your web browser of choice. You now have wirelessly hooked up the Internet to a Toshiba laptop.
