How to Donate Used Computers in New Jersey
If you have a computer in New Jersey that you are no longer using you can donate it to a non-profit organization. If the organization is listed with the IRS, your donation is eligible as a tax deduction. The deduction is based on the fair market value of the computer, which is what the computer would sell for in the current market. Both local and national charities accept used computer donations throughout New Jersey. Not all charities accept non-working computers, so be sure to check before donating a non-working computer.

Search on the IRS website to see if the organization where you want to donate is a registered non-profit.
