Instructions

    • 1

Scrub any dirt, grease stains or mildew off of the concrete urn with a hard scrub brush, hot water, dishwasher liquid and bleach. Rinse thoroughly. If there are any mildew spots left, spot clean them with bleach and hot water. Let the urn completely dry in the sun for 24 to 48 hours.

    • 2

Apply a concrete primer to the urn using a paint brush. The primer will hide any blemishes or stains that you were unable to scrub off with the scrub brush. The primer will also make the surface smoother. Let the concrete primer dry according to the manufacturer's directions.

    • 3

Paint the concrete urn using an exterior waterproof paint that is compatible with concrete. Depending on the size of the concrete urn, use a paint brush or roller to apply the paint. Let it dry before adding another coat, especially if you are using light colors such as yellow or baby blue. Let the paint dry for 24 to 48 hours before filling it with soil and flowers.
