1
Purchase a wet bed that is pre-molded and sturdy. These are the easiest to install and will last the longest. Make sure that you purchase the right size for your shower.
-
2
Mix up the mortar in a 5-gallon bucket with a trowel. The correct mortar proportions are 3 parts mortar powder to 1 part water. You will need enough mortar to completely cover the area where the wet bed will lie.

Apply an even ¼-inch-thick layer of mortar to the floor of the shower using your trowel. There is no need to worry about sloping the mortar when working with a pre-molded wet bed.

4
Place the wet bed onto the mortar and apply gentle pressure to secure it in the mortar. Make sure the wet bed lines up with the rest of the shower and fits securely. Allow the mortar to dry for 18 hours.
