1
Measure one or two inches from the outside of either side of the window frame. Mark these spots with a pencil. Then measure an inch above those marks on the top of the window frame. This is where the installation brackets will go.
-
2
Prep the holes by drilling a small hole on each marked spot. Drill just enough for a screw to fit it but not so much that the screw goes all the way in.
-
-
3
Put the installation bracket up to the predrilled holes. Place the screws through the brackets. Some brackets require two screws, while others only require one. Make sure you know which kind of brackets you have.
-
4
Finish drilling once the installation brackets and screws are in place. The screws should fit snugly in the wall. Be careful that they don't go too deep into the wall. The screw head should remain outside the wall.
-
5
Hold the blinds so that the front faces you. Place the headrail in the installation brackets.
-
6
Push the headrail into the brackets until you hear a click. You may have to position the headrail at an angle and slide it in while pushing. Don't push too hard.
