How to Unlock a RIM BlackBerry 7100i Sprint Iden Cell Phone

Unlocking a cell phone will enable you to use a different provider.

For your BlackBerry 7100i cell phone to work with other networks besides Sprint, it must be unlocked. Unlocking the phone means removing the SIM card, inserting one from your new provider and entering a special code.

Instructions

1. Contact Sprint customer service to request the phone's IMEI code. Sprint will email the IMEI code, or the code identifying your phone, in a few days.

2. Turn off the BlackBerry 7100i. Remove Sprint's SIM card that is located near the battery. Insert the SIM card from the new provider.

3. Turn the BlackBerry 7100i back on. The phone will detect the new card and ask for the IMEI code. Enter the code. Now the BlackBerry will operate using the new network.
