1
Market your business on an ongoing basis by visiting realtors, rental agencies and small office building owners to secure contracts for when they need empty units painted. Also market yourself to private homeowners with flyer deliveries and newspaper ads.
-
2
Create strict company policies and see that they are followed all the time. Policies regarding how you leave a job site when you are finished, and completing jobs on time are important to ensure repeat business. Since you won't always be on-site, have log books printed for your employees to fill out and give questionnaires to customers after jobs are completed. This will enforce a measure of accountability among your employees.
-
-
3
Train employees well. They are the face of your business and you will be judged on their work. Experiment with hiring experienced and inexperienced employees. Sometimes training an employee with no previous experience will ensure they do things exactly how you want them done.
-
4
Create a website and professional brochures to showcase work you've done. Also include any testimonials from satisfied clients. Add new photos to your website often.
-
5
Check in with your staff for a progress report on each job site at least once a day, even if it is by phone.
