How to Completely Restore an IBM Computer
Restoring your IBM computer may seem like a daunting task at first glance. The reality is that it is a straightforward process that even a novice can complete. Whether you need to restore your computer because you are selling it, restoring it due to a corruption in the operating system or just want to start fresh, the process for a complete restoration is the same.

Insert the original operating systems installation disc into the CD-ROM drive of your computer and restart your system.

When the computer restarts, press a key to boot from the CD-ROM drive. This prompt will appear onscreen and you may choose any key on your keyboard.

Choose the restore option when the computer asks you to choose between "Restore" and Repair." The restore process will continue and eventually complete without further help from the computer user. The computer will also restart itself when the process is complete. At that time, your IBM computer will be restored to its original factory settings.
