How to Transfer Songs From an iPod to iTunes Manually
The iPod is designed to automatically sync with iTunes whenever iTunes is open and the iPod is plugged in. However, it is possible to transfer songs from an iPod to iTunes without using the automatic sync function. It can be easier and quicker to transfer songs this way, if you only want to transfer a couple of songs. If you use the automatic sync, iTunes will automatically back up your iPod, which can potentially take several minutes to complete.
