How to Make Bell Napkin Rings
Napkin rings not only serve to keep napkins folded or rolled, but they also add to a festive table's decor. Craft your own bell napkin rings to place around the napkins on a Christmas table or any other dinner table where a bell napkin ring would be fitting. Homemade bell napkin rings are a simple sewing craft project perfect for beginning crafters and those without any sewing experience.

1
Measure and cut a 2- by 8-inch strip of felt.
-
2
Sew the jingle bell onto the felt strip 1 inch in from one of the ends with needle and thread. Push the needle through the felt, leaving a 3-inch long tail of thread, through the metal loop in the back of the jingle bell and back through the felt. Do this at least three times. Tie the two ends of the thread together and trim the excess thread.

-
3
Snip a hole that is just big enough for the jingle bell to fit through 1 inch in from the other end of the felt strip.
-
4
Use the needle and thread to whip stitch around the inside edges of the hole you snipped (similar to the way the inside of a buttonhole is stitched).
-
5
Cut a 6-inch strip of ribbon. Tie the ribbon in a bow by creating two loops with the ribbon and then tying the loops in a knot. Sew the bow right below the buttonhole with needle and thread through the center knot of the bow. Trim the tails of the bow if they are too long.
-
6
Wrap the strip of felt around your folded napkin and slip the jingle bell through the button hole you created to secure it around the napkin.

A picture of the completed napking ring (and any steps that might need a visual) would greatly enhance this post.
