How to Help Protect Your Internet Explorer Security
Internet Explorer is a computer Web browser program that was developed by Microsoft. It comes pre-installed with the Windows operating system and because of this is used by many Windows users across the world. If you don't have an antivirus program installed on your computer, you're going to want to make sure the "Security" settings in Internet Explorer are configured in such a way that your Web browsing experience is always protected.

Open Internet Explorer.

Click "Tools."

Click "Internet Options."

Click "Security."

Use the "Security Level for this Zone" portion of the "Internet Options" window to specify your Internet Explorer security settings. The higher you drag the sliding bar, the more security settings will be in place. If you drag the bar as low as it will go, Internet Explorer security settings will be partially disabled and your Internet browsing experience will not be protected. Once you're done adjusting settings, click "OK" to exit this window.
