How to Make Your Own Dish Soap With Dry Soap Powder
If you are tired of purchasing dish soap from the store, you can make your own dish soap at home and always have it on hand. Commercial dish soaps can contain harsh additives. You can use a few basic ingredients to make your own gentle dish soap. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 1/2 cups water
- Pot
- 1/4 cup dry soap powder
- Metal spoon
- 1/4 cup glycerin
- 1/2 tsp. lemon oil
- Whisk
- Funnel
- Plastic bottle with lid

Add 1 1/2 cups water to a cooking pot.

Place the pot on the stovetop over high heat. Bring the water to a full boil.

Remove the pot from the stove. Add 1/4 cup dry soap powder, and stir until the powder dissolves.

Let the mixture set for five minutes.

Combine 1/4 cup glycerin and 1/2 tsp. lemon oil to the soap mixture. Stir the ingredients to mix them well.

Allow the soap to cool. Once the soap cools, use a whisk to smash the lumps that form.

Place the funnel into a plastic bottle. Pour the dish soap into the bottle, and close it with a lid.
