How to Make a Chat Room on Aim
AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) is a instant-messaging service that allows you to chat with your friends over the internet instantly. With AIM, you can also start your own chat room or "group chat" to speak with multiple friends at once. Creating your own chat room in AIM is simple and takes only a few minutes.

Click on the AIM menu at the top of the main window. Select "New Group Chat" from the drop-down menu that appears. You can also start a new group chat by pressing "Alt+C" on your keyboard. This will bring up the group chat window. In older versions of AIM, "Buddy Chat" is found in the "Actions" menu.

Type in the screen names of people you want to invite to your chat room. Separate each of the screen names with commas. To save time, you can type only a few letters in each screen name, and a "Suggestions" box will appear with each screen name beginning with those letters. Click the screen name you want to invite and it will be added to the list.

To the right you will see a list of the screen names of the people you invited. Talking in chat is similar to sending private instant messages--simply type out your message in the box below the chat and press "Enter" on your keyboard to send the message.
