Instructions

  1. Process

    • 1

Roll a sheet of paper into a tightly wound tube. Glue or tape the free edge to make a paper log. Repeat until reaching the amount needed to complete the paper house.

    • 2

Begin the foundation by placing the first two paper log tubes parallel to one another on a cookie sheet. Add two side paper logs to each end by crossing the ends of the first two paper logs. Place glue under the corners of each log to adhere to the first row. Place the next two paper logs the opposite direction and glue the ends. Repeat until the house reaches the desired height. By alternating the side pieces, the house is built like a log cabin.

    • 3

Create the peak by cutting the paper log tubes to the desired length. Place glue along the length of the paper log and place it on one end. Place the same length paper log on the opposite end of the house. Build the peak on both ends like a pyramid.

    • 4

Fold a flat piece of paper in half to use as the roof. Place glue along the peaks of the house and the edges of the front and back. Lay the folded piece of roof paper on the glue to finish the roof.

    • 5

Paint the paper house with the desired colors. Add windows and a door by using paint.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a hardbound book to support the peaks while they're being built and drying.
