When you dye your hair you should always do it in the bathroom, preferably where there are not wood floors or carpet. Things You'll Need

  • Several clean white cloths
  • 1 tbsp. of liquid hand dish washing detergent
  • Bowl
  • 1 tbsp. of white vinegar

Instructions

      Blot the area with cold water and a clean, white cloth. Push down, or even step, onto the cloth that's on top of the stain. Do not rub the stain; this could cause the dye to bleed onto other carpet fibers, increasing the stained area. Blot up as much of the dye with cold water as you can.

      Pour 1 tbsp. of liquid dish washing detergent into a small bowl. Add 1 tbsp. of white vinegar and 2 cups of warm water to the mix.

      Pour the solution directly onto a new clean, white cloth. Sponge the stain with the solution until the stain is gone.

      Pour cold water over the once-stained area. Blot up the cold water using a different cloth to ensure the stain is gone and the carpet is cleaned.
