How to Promote Safety at Work
Workplace safety is a serious concern for all companies. While it's easy to see why manufacturing companies need to stay on top of safety concerns, so do companies where employees work in an office setting. You should work with your employees to promote safety in your workplace. Identify key areas of concern so that employees know what to look out for.

1
Place signs around the workplace to warn of potential dangers. For example, a sign could simply notify workers of a wet floor or that heavy equipment could hurt them if used improperly.
-
2
Train workers about safety issues. You should give all new employees a basic training on the safety concerns of your office. If they'll be using dangerous machinery, they should have co-worker watch over them the first few times. You can also give regular safety training refresher courses for your current employees.

3
Keep track of accidents. Display a sign that lists the last time there was an accident in your company. Challenge employees to beat the current record for avoiding accidents. When an accident does occur, the sign should go back to zero.
-
4
Accept safety suggestions from employees. Your employees will feel more vested in office safety if they have a say. Create a suggestion box that allows employees to give input. They can do this anonymously or include a name.
-
5
Offer rewards for employees who are safe. When an employee has worked a specified amount of time, like a year, without an accident, reward him with a prize. This could be something like a gift card or even an afternoon off.
