Many people dream of one day becoming a pilot, but becoming a pilot is not a simple goal to attain. In Canada, the requirements for receiving your pilot's license and becoming a pilot are very straightforward and easy to understand. You have to go through specific steps and pass required exams, both written and practical, before you can receive your pilot's license in Canada.

Instructions

1. Attend an accredited flying school in Canada. The flying school will give you the knowledge and skills needed to take and pass the tests needed to get your pilot's license.

2. Be prepared to take and pass a medical exam. The medical exam includes a basic physical fitness test and of course, an eye exam. You can still become a pilot in Canada if you need to wear corrective lenses, but being color-blind may prohibit you from flying. Your medical and eye exams should be taken before you start your flight lessons.

3. Enroll in ground school classes and flight lessons through your flight school. Both classroom training and experience actually flying a plane are necessary to become a pilot in Canada.

4. Register for and take the PSTAR exam. You must pass this exam before you can receive your student pilot permit. The exam includes all of the basic information you've learned in your ground school classes and flight lessons.

5. Complete your solo flight taining. This training involves flying the plane by yourself, and it will help prepare you for the flight test.

6. Take the written exam and flight test required to receive your pilot's license. These exams will test the knowledge and skills you've acquired throughout the flying school's program. Once you pass these tests, you will be issued a pilot's license to fly as a Canadian pilot.
