How to Convert YouTube Video to MPG to Burn on DVD
If you want to make a DVD full of YouTube videos that you can watch on friends' computers, use as a backup, or for any other reason, you'll first need to capture the videos from YouTube into a standard video format such as MPG. You can make this happen using different videos and websites for free on the Internet. This will let you burn the videos to a DVD at a later date, using an application such as Windows Media Player.

Use a website such as Convertfiles.com to paste in the YouTube video page URL, choose MPG format as the type of file you want, and then download that file directly to your computer. The advantage of this method is that not only is it free, but you don't need to install anything to use it.

Try a program such as 1-Click YouTube Downloader as an alternate method to download your MPG file. This software is also completely free to download and install. You can enter the website address of your YouTube video and then download it to your computer with just one click. Download and install a program such as Xilisoft to then convert the FLV video into the MPG format. Use the green plus symbol to add a file, and click on "Profiles" to choose MPG as the output format. The large red "convert" button begins the conversion.

Download and install Youtube Downloader or a similar utility for a quick, one-program method. The program will automatically paste in any YouTube video page that you copy to your clipboard without you having to do anything else. One click will then download the file in FLV format, and the next allows you to immediately convert that video to MPG without having to use any other software.
