How to Make a Wedding Montage
Photo montages are a nice surprise for a bride and groom on their wedding day. If you're getting married and you want to give your guests something special, then you might want to make your own photo montage. Start looking around and you'll be shocked at how much some photographers and designers charge for something that you can do yourself on your home computer. As long as you have a song that you like and enough pictures of you as a couple, it's easy to make your own montage and save some money.

1
Find photographs to use in your wedding montage. Use a variety of pictures that focus on both your life together and your lives before you were a couple. Add pictures from when you were both children, pictures with your friends and pictures with your family. Then add photos of your first vacation and even funny pictures of you as a couple.

Scan any photographs that aren't already in a digital form. Create a specific folder on your computer for storing those pictures, which keeps you from losing a picture or forgetting about one. You might find it helpful to rename the photographs with a number, which indicates its order in the montage.

Download music for the wedding montage. If you have a large number of pictures, you may find that you need multiple songs. Some couples use only a small snippet of a song, which lets them use multiple songs for a shorter montage. If you have a favorite song as a couple, find a way to incorporate that into your montage.

Use video editing software to create the wedding montage. Add in your pictures first, which lets you rearrange the order and add any text to the video. It also gives you the chance to put in transitions, which shows how one photo changes to the other and change the speed of the transitions. Then add your music.

5
Preview the finished wedding montage video. Check the length of the photos against the music, making sure that the music doesn't end before the pictures and vice-versa. When you're satisfied, save a copy of the video on your hard drive and burn a copy onto a blank disc.

Tips & Warnings
You also have the option of adding short video clips to your montage by importing those into your video editing software program and finding a spot for each one in your montage. Turn off the music during the video sections.
