1
Remove all items on the concrete floor. This includes lamps and all electrical items plugged into the wall.
-
2
Vacuum up all loose debris, dirt and concrete chips from the floor.

3
Mop the surface with a concrete cleaner so that grime and other sludge that is stuck onto the concrete is removed.
-
4
Pour a generous amount of concrete sealer onto the concrete floor. Spread the sealer over the floor's surface with a clean sponge mop. Start in the far corner and work backward toward the door so that you don't "paint yourself into a corner."

Tips & Warnings
If the cat has already had an accident on the surface, be sure to use a pet cleaner and remove all urine stains before sealing. Otherwise, those stains will be trapped underneath the sealant.
Reseal the floor every couple of years. After wear and tear, the sealant will start to wear down.
If the concrete floor is especially dirty, consider using a power washer instead of a mop or sponge mop.
Keep the room well ventilated while sealing the concrete floor.
