The Sony PlayStation Portable is a video game device that was released in 2005. It plays Sony PSP games, videos and music. Its operating system is known as the Sony firmware. You can install custom firmware on your PSP that unlocks new features, such as the ability to play downloaded games. You can play downloaded games on any of the custom firmware versions, including 3.11.

      Turn off your Sony PSP and remove the battery and memory stick from the device. Insert the Magic memory stick and Pandora battery. The PSP will turn on itself. Press the "X" button twice to install the custom firmware on your PSP. Press the "X" button once more to shut down the PSP after the install completes. Remove the Pandora battery and Magic memory stick from the PSP and reinsert the normal ones. Turn the PSP back on.

      Connect your PSP to your computer via the USB cable. Select "USB Connection" from the PSP menu to place the PSP into USB mode. A window will appear on your computer, and you will have access to the PSP memory stick.

      Open the "PSP" folder on the memory stick. Inside you will find the "GAME" folder, which is where your downloaded games will be stored. Download one of the games from the resource section of this guide. Right-click the downloaded file and click "Copy."

      Go back into the PSP "GAME" folder and right-click it. Click "Paste" to transfer the downloaded game onto your PSP memory stick. Press the "Circle" button to disconnect the PSP safely from the computer after the transfer completes.

      Go into your PSP menu and navigate to the game section. You will find your newly installed game. Select it with the "X" button to play.
