How to Upgrade the OS in a T-Mobile HTC Wing
T-Mobile USA is the exclusive retailer of the HTC Wing, a touchscreen smartphone. The HTC Wing uses Windows Mobile as an operating system, giving the user access to mobile versions of popular Windows programs such as Outlook, Word and Media Player. When Windows Mobile has new features, improvements to old features or patches for common problems, it releases a new operating system version to its users. It's always a good idea to run the latest operating system on your HTC Wing. To ensure that the software you are downloading is more current than the old software, check the operating system on your HTC Wing before you make any changes. Go to Start>Settings>Device Information>Version on your HTC Wing. Note the version number of the operating system and compare it with the latest version offered by T-Mobile USA.
Windows Mobile Device Center is only available for Windows Vista and Windows 7 users. Windows XP users will have to use the Microsoft ActiveSync program. (See References.)
