Simple Balloon Twisting Instructions
Making balloon animals and shapes is a skill that can serve someone well in a myriad of places. Not only can it be used to amuse your own children, but if you get good enough, you can even turn balloon twisting into a side business. Most balloon shapes employ the use of three basic processes: the bubble, the twist and the balloon fold can be used to make almost any shape imaginable.

1
Place the tip of the inflator inside one long balloon, and pump the inflator to add air to the balloon. In most cases, the balloon should never be filled more than two-thirds full. Once you have inflated the balloon to the desired size, tie the end of the balloon with a small knot. Create this knot by wrapping the end of the balloon into a circle shape, and pull the loose end of the balloon through the circle. Some people find it helpful to create the circle around their finger, and slip the loose end through the knot as they draw the circle off their finger.

2
Take a small segment of the balloon, about 1 inch in size, and twist it several times. This will create a small balloon “bubble.” Most balloon shapes are made by creating a series of bubbles and twisting them together to make recognizable shapes.

Divide the balloon in half by creating a twist in the very middle of the balloon. Fold the balloon in half at this twist point. At the very end of the balloon, twist the two sides of the balloon together. This will create a fold in the balloon that will not come undone easily. Most other balloon shapes are made using this folding method.

Twist two balloons together by inflating two separate balloons and tying a knot in each balloon. Take the middle of both balloons and squeeze together. Twist the two balloons together. This will make an “X” shape. You can twist two balloons together at any point along each balloon.
