Instructions

    • 1

Hang a pole hem flag horizontally, such as with a sports team flag, in a basement or den by measuring the width of the flag and selecting a curtain rod that will fit within the pocket of the pole hem.

    • 2

Mount the curtain rod so that the pocket hem of the flag will easily fit between the curtain rod brackets. This will allow the flag to hang straight and clean.

    • 3

Mount your flag on a traditional indoor flagpole by purchasing a flagpole kit. This kit contains a finial, top pole, bottom pole and base. Select the top pole and determine the top of your pole hem. Look inside the edge of the flag for a leather or Velcro tab. This is the top.

    • 4

Slide the top of the flag up the top pole from the bottom up until the top of the flag reaches the brass screw. Reach inside the pole hem and pull up the leather or Velcro tab and place the tab over the brass screw.

    • 5

Screw the finial to the top of the top pole. Screw the bottom pole to the top pole and then screw the bottom pole into the flag base.

Tips & Warnings

  • Outdoor angled flagpoles should also have a mounting screw at the top of the flag and bottom of the finial to hold the flag in position on the pole.
