How to Make a Windows 98SE Boot CD
Whether you are troubleshooting your PC or just wish to install a fresh copy of Windows 98SE, it is always useful to have a boot CD. You can download the boot CD image for free and burn it.
Instructions
-
-
1
Go to the Windows 98SE Boot Disc Image Download page from the link provided in the References section in this article.
-
2
Click on the Windows 98SE link to begin the ISO file download. If you do not have a Ramdrive, download the version with "(No Ramdrive)" in the title.
-
-
3
Go to the ImgBurn software download page (see link provided in References section of this article) and download ImgBurn. There are many burning ROMs available that will burn an ISO to a CD, however ImgBurn is free and works very well. Install ImgBurn once it finishes downloading.
-
4
Insert the blank CD into your CD burner.
-
5
Launch the ImgBurn software and click "Write image file to disc."
-
6
Select the ISO file that was just downloaded by clicking the "Browse for File" button in ImgBurn.
-
7
Click "Write" at the bottom of the window to begin the burn. When the disc is finished being burned it will be ready to use.
