How to Transfer Music From the Computer to an iPod Nano
Today's iPod Nanos pack a big musical punch--2,000 songs on an 8 GB model and 4,000 songs on a 16 GB model--in a very small package (3.6 inches long, 1.5 inches wide and 0.24 inches deep). Before you can enjoy that music, however, you will have to transfer it from your computer using the iTunes software, which will work not only on Apple computers, but on PCs as well.
Things You'll Need
- iPod dock connector to USB cable (supplied with iPod Nano)
- iTunes 9 or newer

Tips & Warnings
You can transfer all of the songs from your iTunes library to your iPod Nano by clicking on a song and then pressing the "Ctrl" and "A" keys on a PC or the "Command" and "A" keys on a Mac. This action will select all of the songs in the library.
Music cannot be transferred back to iTunes from your iPod Nano without using a third-party software. To ensure that you don't lose any of your music, leave the songs in your iTunes library.
