Pokemon Emerald: How to Unlock Johto

Each generation in the Pokemon series takes place in a certain region of the world. These regions include different towns, locations, landforms and Pokemon types. "Pokemon Emerald" takes place in the Hoenn region. However, players can unlock the three starter Pokemon from the Johto region in the Emerald version.

Instructions

1. Catch all 200 Pokemon in "Pokemon Emerald" to complete your Hoenn Pokedex. You do not need to catch Jirachi or Deoxys to fill the Pokedex.

2. Go to see Professor Birch. He is located in his lab in Littleroot Town.

3. Choose one of the three starter Pokemon from the Johto region: Chikorita, Todadile or Cyndaquil.

4. Trade with friends who also have Pokemon Emerald if you want to own all three Johto starter Pokemon. If you have the patience, you can also fill the Hoenn Pokedex several times and trade with yourself if you have more than one copy of the game and two Game Boy Advance systems.
