How to Completely Uninstall Limewire
LimeWire enables you to search for and download music, videos and images from other users who are connected to the same network. You should remove LimeWire from your computer if you are no longer using the program. This frees up system resources such as hard drive space and memory. To uninstall LimeWire completely, you need to uninstall the program and the setup folders.

Close LimeWire if you are currently using it. In some cases, LimeWire may freeze and refuse to close. If LimeWire refuses to close, launch the task manager by pressing "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete" together. Click the "Processes" tab. Click "limewire.exe" and click "End Process." LimeWire will shut down. Close the task manager.

Click the Windows "Start" button and click the "Control Panel." Click "Programs," and click "Programs and Features" if you are using Windows Vista or 7. This launches the "Programs" window. If you are using Windows XP, launch the "Programs" window by double-clicking "Add or Remove Programs."

Select LimeWire in the programs window and click "Remove" or "Uninstall" depending on the operating system that you are using. Follow the guided prompts to complete the uninstall. When the process completes, close the programs window.

Double click "My Computer" or "Computer" on the desktop and double click the "C:" drive. Locate the "Program Files" folder and double click it. Scroll through the "Program Files" folder and locate the LimeWire folder. Right click this folder, and click "Delete."

Tips & Warnings
Run an automatic registry cleaner program to remove leftover LimeWire entries from the registry. If you do not have a registry cleaner program, download, install and run a free program such as CCleaner or Eusing Registry Cleaner.
