How to Program a Craftsman Security Plus for a Garage Door

Programming a Craftsman security plus garage door opener remote is a very simple process. The security plus system means that the remote and garage door will automatically sync new codes up every time you open or close your door. With just a few clicks, your remote will sync with the opener, and you won't have to reprogram the opener until you buy a new one.

Instructions

1. Position a ladder under the rear section of the garage door opener's motor. Have the remote available and climb up the ladder. Open the plastic lid on the back of the motor. A square button, usually red or orange, will be visible.

2. Press the square button on the motor unit.

3. Press the large button on the front of your security plus remote. If your opener has a light, it will blink.

4. Push the remote's button once more to see if the garage door opens.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure you have a new battery in the remote before syncing it with the opener.
