How to Measure a Shirt Size
Measuring your shirt size is normally necessary when having a suit tailored to fit you perfectly. In order for a shirt to fit properly, several measurements are taken, including the arms and neck. Have paper and pen handy to write down measurements; an extra pair of hands help to ensure you are guiding the measuring tape correctly. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Measure your neck. Start at the Adam's apple and take the cloth tape completely around your neck. Make sure the tape is level, and then stick one finger between the tape and your neck. This is your neck measurement.
-
2
Place one end of the measuring tape at the outer edge of the shoulder, where the arm and shoulder meet. Take the measuring tape across the back to the exact spot on the opposite shoulder. This is the shoulder measurement.

3
Start the measuring tape at the top of the arm where the shoulder and arm meet. Measure down the entire length of the arm to where the wrist and hand meet. Measure again on the opposite arm. This is the sleeve measurement.

4
Place one end of the measuring tape at the broadest area of your chest. Bring the tape around your chest, under your arm, across the back, over the shoulder blades, under the opposite arm and back to the front. Exhale and do not hold your breath when taking this measurement. This is your chest measurement.
