How to Shade Anime Eyes
Shading eyes lends character and expression to your anime character. It's not very hard to do but it can really make a difference with your drawing.

Draw the eye and include the shimmer circle at the top (the blank spot that simulates light reflecting off the eye).

Shade around the pupil and shimmer circle with your colored pencil or marker.

Gradually lighten your pressure on the pencil or marker so that the shading is lighter as you move below the shimmer circle and around the pupil.

Pick another colored pencil/marker with a lighter tint. Continue shading with this new pencil or marker as you move further down around the pupil.

Erase any mistakes. Touch up the eye by drawing lines extending from the pupil with another colored pencil or marker. These tiny flecks of color make the eye more realistic.
