A shirt with thick material is ideal.

Creating homemade backyard toys for your dog can be both rewarding and inexpensive. By using household materials you can create chew toys and pull toys that are durable and easy to replace when finally worn out. The only challenge is if you don't already own the materials needed and have to purchase them. You can find items at thrift or second hand stores.

    • 3

Combine all three sections and tie a knot at one end.

    • 4

Place the knotted end between your knees and then braid the sections tightly.

Get a couple of bubble wrap sheets, the bigger the bubbles the better, but any size will work.

    • 7

Roll your bubble wrap sheet or sheets into a tight roll.

    • 8

Cut approximately six strips of duct tape or fewer, depending on the length of your bubble wrap roll. Cut them to about 15 inches long.

    • 9

Wrap the duct tape around your bubble wrap roll evenly. Make sure not to leave any open areas of bubble wrap exposed.
