How to Troubleshoot the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 Webcam
The QuickCam Pro 9000 is a computer webcam developed by Logitech for use with the Windows operating system. The QuickCam Pro 9000 is unique in that it comes with a built in microphone which allows you to record both audio and video information onto your computer from the same device. Make sure your QuickCam Pro 9000 is properly connected to your computer. The QuickCam Pro 9000 is a USB device, which means that the cable that runs off of the main camera unit will need to be plugged directly into a USB port on your computer in order to operate.

Make sure you have installed the software CD that came with your QuickCam Pro 9000. Insert the software CD into your computer. When the software installation program automatically loads, look for an "Install" option. If no option is present then the software is already installed. If you see the "Install" button, click on it to perform the software installation.

Make sure the "Microphone" line on your sound card is not muted. Double click on the "Volume" control in your task bar to open up the "Volume" properties window for your computer. Make sure that "Microphone" is not muted or turned all the way down to ensure that your QuickCam Pro 9000 is able to properly record audio using its built in microphone.

Restart your computer. If you've recently installed the QuickCam Pro 9000 but your computer still does not recognize it, restart your machine. Sometimes to complete the installation of a piece of software or hardware your computer will need to be restarted. Once your operating system loads back up try to use the QuickCam Pro 9000 again and see if the restart fixed any issues you were having.
