How Do You Block a Number From Texting You on an Alltel Phone
Cellular phones have linked large numbers of human beings into a truly global village of telecommunication. The downside of this near constant connection is that it becomes more and more difficult to filter out the harassment of others. Altel Wireless, a company that was largely absorbed by Verizon Wireless in 2009, offers a text message blocking service to their subscribers. Since recipients of text messages are charged for each message regardless of whether or not the message was wanted, this is an attractive feature.

1
Open the Main Menu of your phone and create a new text message.

Type "B", leave a space and then type, the area code and phone number of the person that you wish to block. Make sure all ten digits are entered correctly.
-

Send the text message. Alltel will intercept any text messages to you originating from that number. That number will then receive a text message notifying them that they have been blocked from sending texts to you.

Tips & Warnings
If you change your mind, or accidentally blocked the wrong person, you can simply unblock a number by sending another text message to 8888. This time, however, enter a letter U followed by the phone number you wish to unblock.
To see a list of numbers that you have blocked, send a text message to 8888 containing only the letter "L".
Be sure to leave a space after the B or U when sending a text to block or unblock a phone number.
