How to Clean Urine Out of a Couch

Accidents happen. If you have kids and pets, you're bound to clean up some pretty nasty messes. These messes can happen all over the house and can involve all types of materials--from art supplies to food products to bodily functions. At some point, you may need to learn the proper technique for cleaning urine out of a couch. If you know how to handle the problem before it happens, cleaning up the mess will be a much less stressful process.

Things You'll Need

• Paper towels
• 1 tbsp. dishwashing liquid
• 2 cups cold water
• White washcloth

Instructions

1. Absorb as much of the urine as you can by blotting the soiled area with paper towels. Press firmly on the paper towels and keep blotting until the couch is as dry as possible.

2. Add 1 tbsp. of dishwashing liquid to 2 cups of cold water. Mix thoroughly.

3. Rub the soiled area with the soap mixture and a white washcloth.

4. Absorb the liquid with paper towels until no moisture is left.

5. Continue to add the soapy mixture to the soiled area and blotting as much of the liquid as you can until the urine is no longer visible.
