How to Make an Awesome Teen Website for Free
Making a teen website is a great way to stay in touch with friends, promote yourself or even start a teen business. Most website hosts charge for their services, but blog servers like Wordpress and Blogger allow you to make an awesome teen website for free that you can completely customize.

1
Sign up for either a Wordpress or Blogger account on their websites, which requires providing a username, password and email address. Some users find Blogger more "user-friendly" in the beginning. However, Wordpress gives you the options of creating pages for your website in addition to posts. With Blogger, you can create the illusion of pages by permanently linking posts in the sidebar. Once you enter your information, click "Agree" under Terms and Conditions and click "Next."
-
2
Enter the domain name of your teen website. This will be the URL address people use to find your site, such as MyTeenWebsite.wordpress.com. Enter the title of your site, which can be, but doesn't have to be, identical to your domain name. The title is what will appear at the top of your website when people visit. If you want your website to be private, deselect the "Public" option. Click "Sign Up."

3
Check your inbox and open the confirmation email Wordpress or Blogger has sent you. Follow the link and click "Confirm" to activate your teen website. Click "Log In" and enter your username and password.
-
4
In your dashboard, click "Appearance" and then "Themes" to browse all of the templates you can use for your teen website. Click "Preview" to see a full-screen version of each template. When you find a template you wish to use, click "Activate."
-
5
Begin adding content to your website in Pages, Posts and Widgets. Pages (in Wordpress only) create a permanent page that will automatically be linked on the sidebar of your homepage. These are ideal for sections like "About Me" or "Contact." Posts are more often used for blogging, which focuses more on current information. Your posts will appear on the main page of your teen website, and each time you post a new one, the previous post will be pushed further down the page.

Awesome websites use multimedia as well as good writing. Upload pictures to your pages and posts by clicking the Image icon, selecting "Browse," and selecting any pictures on your computer. You can also add video from YouTube by copying the embed code (to the right of the video on YouTube), switching from "Visual" to "HTML" mode at the top right of your post entry, and pasting the code directly in to the text box.
