When you browse the Internet, your PC keeps a record of your browsing history. As long as that history's on your computer, it can be accessed and seen by others. If you share your computer with other people, you might not want your browsing history visible, in which case you can delete the browsing history from a PC directly from your Internet browser.

Instructions

  1. Internet Explorer

      Click "Tools."

      Click "Delete" located beneath the "Browsing History" section.

      Check the history types you want to delete. Make sure you check "Browsing and Download History" to delete the browsing history. Then click "Delete."

    Mozilla Firefox

      Click "Clear Recent History."

      Check the history types you want to delete. Make sure you check "Browsing and Download History" to delete the browsing history. Then click "Delete."

    Opera

      Click "Clear Private Data."

      Click "Details," and then check the history types you want to delete. Make sure you check "Browsing History" to delete the browsing history. Then click "Delete."

Tips & Warnings

  • Click on "Delete All" if you want to delete all history along with the browsing history.

  • When you make selections, make sure you press "Delete" after making them because the history is deleted when you confirm your selections---not just when you check them.
