How to Open Pokemon Booster Packs
Booster packs for the Pokemon trading card game give players and collectors the chance to add new cards to their deck or collection that can't be found in starter or pre-made decks. The cards found in a booster pack depend on the series printed on the packaging (e.g., Platinum, HeartGold & SoulSIlver, Diamond & Pearl), and are randomly chosen from that series. Unless you open the booster pack, there's no way to tell what cards it contains. Opening a booster pack is easy and only takes a few seconds.

Find the back side of the booster pack. On the front side of the pack is a Pokemon along with the Pokemon trading card game logo and the pack's card series. The back side has a bar code and small flap used to open the pack.

Slide your index finger beneath the flap to lift it.

Hold the flap firmly between your thumb and index finger near the top of the pack.

Use your thumb and index finger on your other hand to hold firmly near the flap at the top of the pack.

Tear the pack open carefully to avoid damaging the cards.

Remove the foil from the cards. The pack is now open.

Tips & Warnings
Wash and dry your hands completely before opening any booster packs to avoid getting any dirt or grease from your fingers on the cards.
Avoid using scissors or any other sharp cutting tools to open your Pokemon booster packs. You might accidentally cut the cards by mistake, damaging them.
