Use Microsoft Word templates to save time.

Microsoft Word for Mac gives you the ability to create professional-looking documents in a few simple steps. If you need to create a brochure for your business or event, Word's pre-made templates allow you to replace sample text and photos with your own so you don't have to figure out the layout on your own. And if you decide to change things up, you can quickly drag elements of the brochure to different locations in the document.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Word for Mac, and click "File" on the top menu bar. Click "Project Gallery," and select "Brochures." Scroll through the brochure templates, and click the one you want to use to create your brochure.

    • 2

Open the Formatting Palette, if it does not open automatically, by clicking "View" on the menu bar, and click "Formatting Palette."

    • 3

Double-click the text in the brochure template to replace it with your own text. Use the Formatting Palette to change the font, size and appearance of your text.

    • 4

Click any pictures that you would like to remove from the template, and press the "delete" button on your keyboard to remove them.

    • 5

Click the Object Palette icon at the top of the Formatting Palette to insert clip art or a personal photo from your computer. When you locate a photo you want, just drag it to an area of the brochure.

    • 6

Drag the handles in the corner of the photo to resize it. If you want text to appear on top of the photo, right-click the image and select "Arrange" and "Send to Back."

    • 7

Click the "Save" button to save your finished work.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you drag and drop a photo over text, the text automatically wraps around the image.

  • If you see the letter "A" at the bottom of a text box, it means there is more text to be shown and the box needs to be expanded. Click on the "A" and drag it down to display all of the text.

  • If you will be making a similar brochure again, you can save your finished project as a template. Click the "Save" button, and select "Word Template" in the "Format" menu. The brochure will now appear in your brochure templates for future use.
