How to Copy & Paste a Screenshot

Found This Helpful

Windows and Mac computers both allow users to take screenshots of their computers. This basically means that the user is able to take a picture of whatever is on his screen at a certain time. This can be particularly advantageous for those who want to take a single scene from a movie or video and view it elsewhere as an image file. Copying and pasting screenshots is simple on both Mac and Windows-based computers.

Screenshot on a PC

  1. Pull up the screen or video you want to take a screenshot of onto your computer.

  2. Press the "PrtScn" key on your keyboard. This is the "print screen" key and it may be abbreviated differently depending on your keyboard.

  3. Open the document into which you want to paste the screenshot.

  4. Press "Ctrl" + "V" on your keyboard. You now have copied and pasted a screenshot on your PC.

Take a Screenshot on a Mac

  1. Open the screen or video of which you want to take a screenshot.

  2. Press "Command" + "Shift" + "3" + "Control." This will copy the screenshot and save it on your clipboard.

  3. Open the document into which you want to paste the screenshot.

  4. Press "Command" + "V." Your screenshot is now pasted into the document.
